A Google Forms alternative that looks like you
Google Forms is familiar. HornetForms is free forever, and adds the design control, logic and integrations Google Forms leaves out.
When Google Forms stops being enough
Google Forms is the default for a reason: it works with any Google account and anyone can use it. It gets harder when the form faces customers. The look is mostly Google's, branching jumps between sections from multiple choice and dropdown questions, and file uploads ask respondents to sign in to a Google account.
- Free forever, with unlimited forms and responses within fair use
- Conditional logic, piping, calculations and up to 20 endings, free
- Graded quizzes with answer keys and a pass mark, free
- File uploads with no sign-in for respondents
- Themes, presets and 21 fonts; logo and custom CSS on Pro
- Embeds, popups, QR codes and link previews
- Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Notion and Zapier, free

Notes
- Microsoft's limits are per form and depend on the account type. Typeform and Jotform count responses per month across all your forms. HornetForms and Tally both have a fair use policy.
- US dollars as shown on each pricing page, before tax. HornetForms' yearly prices are totals for the year.
- Respondents never sign in to upload a file to a HornetForms form.
Where the numbers come from
Everything in the HornetForms column is a feature you can use today, on the plan named. Competitor prices and limits come from their own pricing and help pages, linked above, on the date shown; they change, so check them before you decide. Where we couldn't confirm something on their site, we say so instead of guessing. Typeform, Jotform, Google Forms, Microsoft Forms and Tally are trademarks of their respective owners; HornetForms is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
Two very different price tags
Google Forms works with a personal Google account, and business features come with Google Workspace plans. Those are priced per user and cover all of Google's apps, not Forms on its own. HornetForms' Free plan is free forever, with unlimited forms and responses. Pro and Business are for when you want your own branding, a custom domain, translations, teammates or the API, and they're one subscription per account, not per user.

Google Forms is quick to build: add questions, tweak the theme, share the link. That simplicity is its strength, and also where it stops. HornetForms is just as quick, since you type the form like a doc, and it goes further on the look: theme presets, 21 fonts, buttons and backgrounds on every plan, plus your logo, cover image and custom CSS on Pro. Embed it inline, as a popup or as a slider on your own site.
Logic, uploads and where answers go
Google Forms jumps to a section based on a multiple choice or dropdown answer. HornetForms has conditional logic on any question, answer piping, calculations, hidden fields and up to 20 endings, all free. For uploads, Google Forms saves files to the form owner's Google Drive and asks respondents to sign in to Google. In HornetForms an upload is just a question and nobody signs in. Answers go to Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Notion, Zapier or your own signed webhook, all free.
When Google Forms is the better pick
- Your team already lives in Google Workspace and it's an internal survey.
- You want responses in a Google Sheet and nothing else.
- You need something right now and don't mind how it looks.
HornetForms vs Google Forms questions
Is HornetForms free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever, with unlimited forms and responses, logic, uploads, signatures and integrations. No card needed.
Can I import my Google Forms?
You can bring the questions over. Drop in the CSV of your form's responses and HornetForms turns its columns into questions, free and right in your browser. Or upload a PDF or Word copy of the form and AI rebuilds it as a draft, which uses one AI generation.
Do my respondents need a Google account to upload files?
Not in HornetForms. An upload is a normal question and nobody signs in. Free uploads can be up to 10 MB a file; Pro and Business have no plan limit on file size.
Can I still send responses to Google Sheets?
Yes. The Google Sheets integration is free on every plan and adds a row for every new response.
Free, and it looks like you
Unlimited responses, real logic and your own look, on a Free plan that stays free. Pro adds your logo, custom CSS and a custom domain.
