Unlimited responses. No meter running.

Most form builders either count your responses or keep your branding on a short leash. Here is how HornetForms lines up against Typeform, Jotform, Google Forms and Microsoft Forms, with every number sourced and dated.

Pick a comparison

One page per tool: the side-by-side table, how the pricing works, what building feels like, and when the other tool is the better pick.

  • Typeform

    Import your forms

The one-question-at-a-time classic, with plans tiered by responses. Bring your forms across with our free importer.

  • Jotform

A huge toolbox with payments, metered by forms, submissions and storage on every self-serve plan.

    HornetForms vs Jotform
  • Google Forms

Works with any Google account and fine for quick surveys, thin on design, logic and public uploads.

    HornetForms vs Google Forms
  • Tally

A doc-style builder with unlimited free responses under a fair use policy, like ours. The differences are in yearly pricing, importing, design and analytics.

What you're actually choosing between

Typeform and Jotform are polished and popular, and both are metered: their plans are tiered by how many responses you collect, so a form that does well tends to push you up a plan. Google Forms and Microsoft Forms come with an account you may already have, and they're free and quick for simple surveys. HornetForms adds conditional logic, your own themes and colors, and unlimited responses on every plan.

  • Unlimited forms and responses within fair use, on every plan, Free included
  • Conditional logic, multi-page forms, piping and calculations, free
  • Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Notion and Zapier, free on every plan
  • Payments through your own Stripe account on every plan, with no HornetForms fee
  • Import your Typeform forms in a minute, free
  • Your logo, cover images, custom CSS and badge removal on Pro
  • 1 custom domain on Pro, 10 on Business

Notes

  1. Microsoft's limits are per form and depend on the account type. Typeform and Jotform count responses per month across all your forms. HornetForms and Tally both have a fair use policy.
  2. US dollars as shown on each pricing page, before tax. HornetForms' yearly prices are totals for the year.
  3. Respondents never sign in to upload a file to a HornetForms form.

Where the numbers come from

Everything in the HornetForms column is a feature you can use today, on the plan named. Competitor prices and limits come from their own pricing and help pages, linked above, on the date shown; they change, so check them before you decide. Where we couldn't confirm something on their site, we say so instead of guessing. Typeform, Jotform, Google Forms, Microsoft Forms and Tally are trademarks of their respective owners; HornetForms is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

When one of the others is the better pick

A table where one column wins every row is a brochure, not a comparison. These are the times we'd send you elsewhere.

  • Your team already lives in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and a plain internal survey is all you need. Those tools are already paid for.
  • You want the exact one-question-at-a-time look Typeform made famous. We have a one-question-at-a-time layout on every plan, but Typeform builds its whole product around that style.

Comparison questions

Where do the competitor prices come from?

From each company's own pricing and help pages. Every tool's sources are linked under the table with the date we last checked them. If we couldn't confirm a number on their site, we left it out.

Is HornetForms really unlimited on the Free plan?

Yes, within fair use. We don't count or cap forms or responses on any plan, Free included, and the Free plan is free forever. Fair use means you use HornetForms to build forms and collect answers from real people, not for spam, file storage or reselling. What's metered is AI form generation (3 a month on Free, 30 on Pro, 100 on Business), because each generation costs us money. The pricing page explains fair use in full.

Can I move my forms from Typeform?

Yes. Paste a public Typeform link into the importer and you'll see your questions rebuilt as a HornetForms form before you sign up. Anything that can't come across is flagged in the preview. It's free on every plan.

Can I import from Google Forms?

You can bring the questions over two ways. Drop in the CSV of your form's responses and HornetForms builds the questions from its columns, free. Or upload a PDF or Word copy of the form and AI rebuilds it, using one AI generation.

Can I take payments in my forms?

Yes, on every plan, Free included. Add a Payment block and connect your own Stripe account; payments go straight to it. HornetForms adds no fee of its own, and Stripe's processing fees apply.
